A new feature called Webhook has been added to Vidjack. In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to use Webhook to connect your autoresponder to Vidjack for those whose autoresponder is not listed inside of Vidjack.

To make it easy to understand and follow up, the tutorial is divided into 3 sections:

1. What are Webhooks? how it works, and the use case for Vidjack
2. How to create your webhook URL using Zapier
3. Vidjack integration – step by step on how to do the setup inside of Vidjack using ur already generated webhook URL.

Let’s begin with the first part,

What are Webhooks?

Webhooks are one way that apps can send automated messages or information to other apps.

So webhooks are used to connect other 3rd party apps and make them work together seemlessly.

I will give you some examples,

• Paypal uses webhook to tell your accounting app when your clients pay you,
• With the help of webhook, WooCommerce can notify you about new orders in Slack.
• You can use webhook to tell your autoresponder to collect emails from a Vidjack campaign without having your autoresponder listed in Vidjack.

To connect your autoresponder to Vidjack via webhook, you will need a webhook URL that will serve as the communication link between Vidjack and the 3rd party app(autoresponder).

To help us create a webhook URL, we’ll use a platform called Zapier to create zaps that link Vidjack to other apps.

That will take us to the second part of this tutorial,

How to Create Your Webhook URL Using Zapier

First, what is Zapier?

Zapier is a tool that helps you automate repetitive tasks between two or more apps—no code necessary. When an event happens in one app, Zapier can tell another app to perform (or do) a particular action.

Let’s create an automated workflow that connects your autoresponder to Vidjack, and this automated flow is called a zap.

To do this, login to Zapier if you already have an account; if not, create a new account.

To create a zap, click on the Create Zap Button on the left

The zap will serve as the connection between Vidjack and my autoresponder, in this case Systeme.io

After choose the app you are working with, the next thing is to add an event, in this case is Catch Hook

At this point, we’ll need to Test the Trigger by copying the Webhook URL and pasting it in Vidjack And come back to Zapier to Test the Trigger

Login to Vidjack, open the campaign you want to work on and go to Integration, Click on WebHook

Paste the WebHook URL and Turn On WebHook Testing

At this point, we’ll go back to Zapier to also test the Trigger

It was successful as you can see below:

Click On Continue

We have successful created our WebHook and tested with success on Vidjack

The Next thing is to connect it to our preferred Autoresponder listed in Zapier. For this case, I will be using my Systeme.io Autoresponder

Search for your preferred AR in Zapier, Mine is Systeme.io

Next, choose an event. In this case, the required event is “Subscribe to Campaign” So I want the prospects who view my Vidjack campaign to subscribe, I can have their details stored in Systeme.io

Next, Zapier will required you to login to your autoresponder account(Systeme.io)

Next is to Set Up Action. 

This will required that you create a campaign in your autoresponder if you have not already done so. If you have more than one campaign, it will appear in the drop down. Select the campaign you are working with, in my case I named it Vidjack and then enter an email and a name

Now that we have tested the campaign and it’s successful, let’s go ahead and publish it

Note: Before publishing, you might be asked to verify your email.

Once you publish, it should look like this

Testing the Entire Connection

Login to Vidjack and create a campaign, add the subscribe Element to the campaign

Now that I opted in to the campaign, lets see if it stored in my autoresponder(systeme.io)

The email was actually stored in my autoresponder.

That’s the step-by-step process of setting up a WebHook to collect contact details on a Vidjack campaign if your autoresponder is not listed in Vidjack.
